Learn the basics of ice safety and ice fishing in a fun family friendly environment. All equipment will be provided. This program is part of a partnership between Vermont Fish & Wildlife and Swanton Recreation!
There will be two hours of indoor class time at Swanton Recreation, then it's off to the lake for Ice Fishing with instructor Keith Sampietro for VT's Free Fishing Day!
Let’s Go Fishing is a network of volunteer instructors who encourage and teach Vermonter’s aquatic education on behalf of the Vermont Fish & Wildlife Dept. Volunteers with the Let's Go Fishing Program encourage and teach young people and their families how to fish, emphasizing that fishing is more than just catching fish. Vermont Fish & Wildlife provides support to all instructors through detailed trainings, curriculum, staff support and equipment. Annually the program reaches over 8,000 Vermonters and is supported by sport fish restoration funds.
