We are so excited that spring has sprung! April is a very lively month here at Swanton Recreation as we prepare our facility for Little League and Summer Programs. Here are some things that we want to share with you all!
  • Youth Athletics
      • Northwest Little League
        • Will begin in April and run until beginning of June, If you have registered for this program and not received any communication from your coach or Northwest Little League, please contact our office so that we can update your contact information
      • Spring Track and Field
        • Mondays and Tuesday 5-6pm
  • Summer youth athletic clinics- REGISTRATION IS OPEN NOW
        • Football: Grade 5th through 8th. July 22nd through 24th. 5-6pm
        • Field Hockey: Grade 5th through 8th. July 29th through 31st. 5-6pm
  • Tennis in the Park- Grade 1-5, 7/8/24-8/12/24 Grade 1-2 3:30-4:30 Grade 3-5 4:30-5:30
  •  DATES TO REMEMBER FOR UPCOMING SEASONS
        • Fall Soccer- Registration opens June 3rd, mark your calendars now!
        • Fall Field Hockey- Registration opens June 3rd, mark your calendars now!
        • Youth Football with the Northwest Valley Ducks- REGISTRATION opens April 1st
        • Youth Basketball- Registration opens in October 1st
    • Day Camps -
      • If you have a teen age 12-15 that is looking to build leadership skills, we offer at Counselor In Training program, (please contact Nicole, programs.swantonrec@gmail.com for more information) 
  • April Vacation Camp- April 22-26 8am-3pm
        • Enjoy your spring break with us at Swanton Recreation, with lots of outdoor play, crafts and daily specials to help keep your young persons mind and body moving!
  • Summer Vacation Camp
      • We are excited to be able to offer 6 weeks of summer camp this summer. Join us for Super Kids in Swanton in June,and Super Summer Days in July. please see our website for more information, Limited amount of scholarships available.

  • Youth Programs
      • Hunters Education- Our Friends from VT Fish and Wildlife will be back to host Hunters Education on April 27, Registration opens for this workshop March 25 on the fish and wildlife website. This is a full day in person class that has a home study component. If you need a work book please reach out to our office as we have some copies available
      • Safe Sitter workshops for youth in Grades 6-8
        • Great way for our young people to learn valuable skills to help them become a safe experienced babysitter. Workshops now listed on our website. Limited space available. Sign up soon! NEXT CLASS 5/4/24
      • Youth Dungeons and Dragons with Beyond the Bell @MVSD Afterschool 
        • Fridays 3-530, Youth Grade 7+
      • Teen Nights- Happening throughout the year with the help of our community partners, NEW Teen Events calendar launching 4/5/24
      • Teen Leadership Opportunities- Ongoing throughout the year, if you have a young person that is a natural born leader, or looking to develop their leadership skills, email programs.swantonrec@gmail.com to do an intake into this ongoing program of community service opportunities and workforce development
  • Community Events offered by Swanton Recreation
      • Day in the Dirt, Join us in the community garden for the 2024 growing season, (Early May)
      • Swanton Community Yard Sale- Get your name on the list for the sale of the year, an opportunity to get out meet your neighbors and do some treasure hunting (Late May)
      • Swanton’s Outdoor Markets on the Green- Will look a little different this year, we are working with a dedicated group of volunteers to help plan a series of FAMILY nights on the green! Stay tuned for more details.
      • Pollinator Garden Party- Join us in celebrating the community gardens at Swanton Recreation, with a tea party and lite snacks. Come learn about out pollinator friends and how our community benefits from them(June)
      • Corn Fest, Join us here for some Corny games, Live entertainment and food offerings (August 10)

  • Adult Programs
  • NEW-TENNIS IN THE PARK, Mondays from 7/8/24-8/12 6-7:30, registration now open!
      • Zumba with Sarah Tanner, Tuesday and Thursday 6:15 at Swanton Public Library
      • Co-ed Athletic leagues
  • Co-ed Softball- Registration is open!
        • Co-ed Soccer- Registration will open June 3rd
        • Co-ed Flag Football- Registration will open June 3rd
      • Pickleball at Marble Mill, check out Playtime scheduler for all the groups playing
  • Rental equipment
      • Snowshoes and Walking poles, Kayaks and Inflatable Stand Up Paddle Boards, Life Jackets from our SeaTow Life Jacket Loaner Station, Disc Golf,Fishing Poles,Yard Games
