Swanton Celebrates Grand Opening of Lamoille Valley Rail Trail head

SWANTON, VT — The Town of Swanton, in partnership with community and regional trail partners, is proud to announce the Grand Opening of the Swanton Lamoille Valley Rail Trail (LVRT) Trail head on Saturday, May 16, 2026 at 10:00 AM.

This event marks an exciting milestone in the continued growth of the Lamoille Valley Rail Trail one of Vermont's most significant outdoor recreation assets while establishing Swanton as a welcoming and accessible gateway for residents and visitors alike.

Community members, neighboring towns, trail advocates, and regional organizations are invited to attend this celebratory event, which will recognize the collaboration, dedication, and shared vision that brought this trail head to life.

"This trail head represents more than just a place to access the trail it reflects the power of community partnership and a shared commitment to outdoor recreation, wellness, and connectivity," said Nicole Draper, Executive Director of Swanton Recreation. "We're proud to be part of a state wide effort that brings people together and strengthens our communities."

The Grand Opening Ceremony will include:
Remarks from community leaders and trail partners
Opportunities to connect with regional organizations
A celebratory ribbon cutting

The Swanton LVRT Trailhead Grand Opening is free and open to the public. All are encouraged to attend and celebrate this exciting addition to Vermont's growing recreation network.
